The Source of Porcelain: Ancient Ceramic Art Museum
Located in Liangxi National Forest Park, a 3A-level scenic area in Daochang Township, Wuxing District, Huzhou City, the Ancient Ceramic Art Museum is a testament to the rich history of porcelain. The museum’s architectural design is centered around the concept of ‘great concealment in the mountains,’ which allows the building to blend seamlessly with the mountainous environment, becoming an integral part of the landscape. The ecological island and the museum complement each other, creating an illusion that the museum is weaving through the dense forest, emerging from the mountains.
Surrounded by towering green peaks, the museum is a sight to behold. Each season offers a unique experience: a sea of blossoms in spring, lush tree shade in summer, clear skies and light clouds in autumn, and a silvery dress in winter. The museum is divided into two floors, with a total exhibition area of approximately 1600 square meters.
Over two hundred precious ancient ceramic artifacts are displayed chronologically from the Xia, Shang, to the Song dynasties. Each showcase still shines brightly after a millennium of history, allowing visitors to appreciate the exquisite objects of the past and be intoxicated by the present. One can stand for a long time in the lingering ancient charm, letting the years flow like water and people come and go like shuttles.
The museum’s exhibits are organized as follows:
– First Floor Exhibition Hall: Primitive celadon from the Xia, Shang, Zhou, Spring and Autumn Warring States to the Qin and Han dynasties.
– Second Floor (Special Exhibition) Hall: Ancient celadon from the Three Kingdoms, the Jin, the Northern and Southern Dynasties to the Sui, Tang, and Song dynasties. The facility offers a viewing hall and meeting room designed to accommodate 40-50 people, specifically for the purpose of enjoying cultural documentaries. Additionally, there is a pottery-making experience room where visitors can immerse themselves in the art of pottery. This space also features a display of pottery works, allowing guests to appreciate the beauty of pottery creations while also experiencing the joy of making their own.
