The ‘Unique Supreme among the Five Sacred Mountains’ landscape stone group is located southeast of the Jade Emperor Temple at the summit of Mount Tai, with an elevation of 1545 meters. The four characters ‘Unique Supreme among the Five Sacred Mountains,’ which have withstood the test of time for centuries, are in regular script and were inscribed by Yu Gou during the reign of Emperor Guangxu in the year 1907 (Ding Wei year). The cliff inscription measures 210 centimeters in height and 65 centimeters in width, with the large characters measuring 55×42 centimeters. On its left side, there is a regular script inscription reading ‘Gazing Beyond the Heavens.’ The phrase ‘Unique Supreme among the Five Sacred Mountains’ has always been regarded as a symbolic praise that highlights the exalted status of Mount Tai. The reverse side of the new edition of the five-yuan Renminbi note features this design. The site is open all year round, 24 hours a day, with specific business hours subject to the daily opening status.
