Qingyuan’s Thousand-Year Yao Village is an authentic ancient ethnic minority village with a history spanning over 1400 years. The village is built against the mountains, preserving 398 ancient buildings within. The Yao culture is rich in history and charm, with the Yao people known for their singing and dancing skills. Yao traditions such as ‘Shua Ge Tang’, ‘Changgu Dance’, and ‘Yao Marriage Customs’ have been listed as national intangible cultural heritage.
Unique Yao marriage customs, Paiyao folk songs, and Yao embroidery are all included in the ‘Guangdong Province Intangible Cultural Heritage’ list. Apart from admiring the rustic residences, visitors can also enjoy the vibrant Yao folk song and dance performances by A Gui Ge and Sha Yao Mei at the Yao Dance Square. The village is open all year round, 24 hours a day. Bonfire party regular activity times: from April 1st to November 30th starting at 19:00, and from December 1st to March 31st of the following year starting at 18:30. Please refer to the actual time on the day of the visit at the scenic spot.Favorable policies for children: those under 1.2 meters (excluding) are free of charge; those from 1.2 meters (including) to 1.4 meters (excluding) receive a discount. For the elderly: those aged 70 and above (including) with their ID cards are free of charge; those aged between 60 (including) and 70 (excluding) with a senior citizen card or ID card receive a discount. For students: those aged between 6 (including) and 18 (including), as well as full-time undergraduate and below, with a student ID card receive a discount.
For active-duty military personnel: with their military ID and ID card, they are free of charge. For disabled military personnel: with their disabled military personnel certificate, they are free of charge. For ‘three relatives’ and families of active-duty military personnel: with valid proof, they are free of charge. For people with disabilities: with their first, second, or third-degree disability certificates, they are free of charge. Additional note: Free ticket holders are only allowed to visit the Yao village; to watch the daytime Yao song and dance performances, additional tickets must be purchased (reference price: 50 yuan/person).
Service facilities include a parking lot: [Thousand-Year Yao Village Scenic Area Parking Lot] with a reference price of free; located about 400 meters from the ticket office at the Thousand-Year Yao Village Scenic Area in Nan Gang Village, San Pai Town, Lian Nan County, Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province; with a capacity of 100. During holidays, small cars are parked at the mountain parking lot, and visitors need to take a transfer vehicle (25 yuan/person) to the scenic area.
