To the east of the pavilion is the Three Sages Shrine, which is a place for later generations to worship Fan Zhongyan, Fu Bi, and Ouyang Xiu, three prefects of Qingzhou. Fan Zhongyan Shrine is in the middle, with a statue of Fan Zhongyan inside. The original sites of Fu Gong Shrine and Ouyang Gong Shrine are both on the side of Baoshui Gully in the west of the city. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, they were both relocated to the left and right of Fan Zhongyan Shrine and collectively called the “Three Sages Shrine”. In 1661, the eighteenth year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty, Xia Yifeng, the prefect of Qingzhou, renovated it. And on the high platform behind the shrine, the Houlle Hall was built, taking the meaning of “Be the first to worry about the affairs of the state and the last to enjoy pleasures.”. To the north of Fangongting is a highland called Fangongtai. During the period of the Republic of China, eight rooms of “Chengqingxuan” were built on the south side of the platform. The front and back of the bright windows are all protruding corridors, which are places for tourists to rest.
