Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park is located in Nansinfang Village, Tanzhe Temple Town, Mentougou District, Beijing, adjacent to the ‘Millennium Ancient Temple’ Tanzhe Temple, and is 40 kilometers away from the city center. Due to the natural formation of irregular skylight holes on the cliff top, it is called Kulong Mountain by the local people. Also, because of its shape like a ‘gate’ and the inscription ‘Tianmen Mountain’ on the cave wall, it is named Tianmen Mountain. The park covers an area of 669.41 hectares, has a continental monsoon climate, and a forest coverage rate of 76.8%. Its main peak is 550 meters above sea level.
