The Tianmu Grand Canyon is filled with volcanic boulders, formed by volcanic eruptions followed by glacial movements, hence it is also known as the ‘Volcanic Grand Canyon’. The natural landscape has been developed with a variety of challenging recreational activities such as zip-lining and water swings.
Although the streams within the canyon are winding and the boulders are disorderly, the single visitor trail makes for an easy walk. Thoughtfully, the scenic area has covered the trail with a canopy, providing shade in the summer and protection from rain.

Highlight One: Spirited Stones – Upon entering the canyon, you are greeted by a stone in the stream resembling the character Bajie from Chinese mythology, with artificially drawn facial features, giving it a cute appearance. Further along, you will find other shaped stones such as Turtle Stone and Dolphin Stone. If you observe carefully, you can discover many other interesting stones in the stream.

Highlight Two: Abundant Entertainment Activities – Take a photo in front of the large rock inscribed with ‘The Valley is Full of Spirit’ by Jin Yong, then continue along the stream to the Water Playground, where most of the water-based recreational activities are concentrated. On the pond, you can enjoy kayaking and water swings, and in summer, swimming in the pond. Sometimes, those swimming below may splash water at you from the swings, creating a joyful atmosphere. If the weather is cool, you can experience thrilling activities such as grass sliding and zip-lining nearby, feeling the exhilaration of speeding through the landscape.
