The Tianmu Mountain Grand Canyon, also known as the ‘Volcanic Grand Canyon,’ is a geological wonder filled with volcanic boulders. These boulders were formed by volcanic eruptions and subsequent glacial movements.
A variety of adventurous recreational activities have been developed in this area, such as zip-lining and water swings, providing a thrilling experience for visitors. Despite the winding streams and scattered boulders within the canyon, the single walking path makes navigation quite easy. The scenic area has thoughtfully covered the path with a canopy, which shields visitors from the scorching sun in summer and protects them from rain during wet weather.
One of the highlights of the canyon is the “Spirited Stones.” Upon entering, you are greeted by a stone in the stream that resembles the character Bajie from the classic tale, with artificially drawn features that give it a cute appearance. Further along, you will find other pictographic stones like the Turtle Stone and Dolphin Stone. If you pay close attention, you can discover many other interesting stones in the stream.
Another highlight is the “Abundant Entertainment Activities.” You can take a photo in front of the large rock inscribed with ‘The Valley is Full of Spirit’ by Jin Yong. Continuing along the stream, you will reach the Water Play Pond, where most of the water-based entertainment activities are concentrated. On the pond, you can enjoy kayaking and water swings, and during summer, swimming in the pond is also an option. Challengers walking on the swings may be splashed by swimmers below, adding a playful element to the experience.Visiting the Tianmu Grand Canyon Scenic Area offers a range of exciting experiences. If the weather is cooler, you can indulge in thrilling activities such as grass sliding and zip-lining, feeling the exhilaration of speeding through the landscape. After these adrenaline-pumping adventures, cross the corridor bridge to find the Qingyi Pavilion on the other side, which provides dining options and a mountain archery activity.
