Tiantangding is the main peak of Nan Kunshan, located within the Shimen Scenic Area of the ShiMen National Forest Park in Conghua, Guangzhou. It stands at an elevation of 1210 meters, making it the tallest peak in the Guangzhou area. It borders Pai Tan Town in Zengcheng City to the east, Liangkou Town in Conghua City to the south, and Nan Kunshan in Longmen County to the north. The average annual temperature is 15 degrees Celsius, with the highest temperature reaching 22 degrees and the lowest temperature dropping to minus 5 degrees. During winter, the area experiences prolonged frost and ice, with occasional snowfall. The scenery is characterized by high mountains, fresh air, lush forests, and rugged peaks, embodying the natural features of elegance, tranquility, and mystery.
Tiantangding, along with nearby Tian Tang Er Feng, Monkey’s Forehead, and Hengkeng Ding, forms the four major peaks, with the setting sun illuminating their steepness, evoking a sense of the everlasting mountains. Visitors can enjoy sunrises, forests, and sea of clouds, and overlook the scenery of Liuxi River, Nan Kunshan, Conghua Hot Springs, and the pumped-storage power station. At the peak, there is a stone known as the ‘Tian Wang Stone,’ which has a beautiful and touching legend associated with it. Together with Tian Tang Er Feng, Monkey’s Forehead, and Hengkeng Ding, these peaks form the four major peaks, with the setting sun highlighting their steepness and evoking a sense of the everlasting mountains. From the summit, one can gaze upon a panoramic view of ‘distant mountains flickering’ and ‘high gorges forming lakes,’ feeling as if immersed in a fantasy landscape. Visitors can explore the Tian Wang Stone, Tian Tang Ding, Tian Tang Er Feng, Monkey’s Forehead, and Hengkeng Ding, as well as enjoy sunrises, forests, and sea of clouds, and overlook the natural scenery of Liuxi River, Nan Kunshan, Conghua Hot Springs, and the pumped-storage power station.
