Introducing the Tianxian Waterfall, which officially opened in 1988, it is located in the upper reaches of the Baihe River. This remarkable site features three-tiered springs: Jie Xian Waterfall, Jing Xian Waterfall, and Wang Xian Waterfall. With a total drop of 310 meters, it significantly exceeds the San Die Spring of Lushan, making it one of the known tiered waterfalls in China. The Jing Xian Waterfall, in particular, boasts a drop of 115 meters, which is the highest in North China.
The Tianxian Waterfall scenic area is characterized by valleys with gentle undulations. It concentrates the natural scenery of Yunmeng mountains, rocks, waterfalls, pools, and forests, all within a vegetation coverage rate of over 90%. This makes it a richly vegetated scenic spot in Miyun. During the golden autumn season, the area is abundant with fruits such as walnuts, hawthorn, pears, sand fruits, mountain hazelnuts, and betel nuts. Every autumn, a picking festival is held in this scenic area.
The scenic area boasts more than 30 attractions, integrating magnificence, uniqueness, tranquility, coolness, and harmony. Major attractions include the Reclining Buddha Hall, Hidden Immortal Pool, Bodhidharma’s Wall Facing, Resounding Water Gully, Debris Flow Site, Ribbon Garden, Thousand-foot Cliff, and Secluded Valley Green Screen, stretching over 10 kilometers. Within the scenic area, there are dense pools and waterfalls with cascading waters, totaling eight waterfalls and twelve pools. Most of these waterfalls have a drop of more than 20 meters, resembling dragons and white silk, falling from the clouds with a majestic and awe-inspiring presence.The scenic area boasts a vegetation coverage rate of over 90%, making it a lush and verdant destination within Miyun. Visitors can enjoy the beauty of this natural wonder from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM every day of the year.
