Tianxing Tan is one of the three major scenic areas of the Great Dragon Valley in Eastern Zhejiang, a must-visit destination for tourists and pilgrims, known as the ‘First Dragon Pool in Eastern Zhejiang’. It is said that the Chinese dragon originated from here. The area is named after the eighteen pools that resemble giant cauldrons, known as ‘Shi Ba Huo’. The brook is filled with grotesque rocks, and most of the attractions are related to folk tales about dragons, such as ‘Broken Dragon Tail’, ‘Jade Emperor’s Golden Seal’, and ‘Xian Bei Protecting the Treasure’. It is open all year round from 8:00 to 17:00.
