Tianzhu Peak is located on the south cliff of Jiulonggang. The two peaks are not far apart and face each other across the valley. The peaks with shapes similar to huge candles are respectively called Datianzhu Peak and Xiaotianzhu Peak. Near Datianzhu Peak and Xiaotianzhu Peak is the place to admire ancient pines on Mount Tai. The Ancient Pine Garden in Houshiwu is here, and there are also three clear pools of water. To the south is Jianchi Pool. According to legend, it is the place where the goddess combs her hair and reflects her appearance. It is also called Jade Maiden’s Hair Washing Basin. To the north is Phoenix Pool, and to the northeast is Yinhu Pool. Under Datianzhu Peak is Xiliyu. According to old traditions, there was a witch who attained nirvana here. It is also called Fengmo Stream. In the stream, there is Tianzhu Waterfall. A columnar solitary peak of Xiaotianzhu Peak suddenly rises from the bottom of the valley. It is towering like a candle. The劲松 at the peak end is like a candle flame burning, so it is called ‘Candle Flame Pine’. To the east of Xiaotianzhu Peak, there is another columnar peak, which is more majestic and sturdy than Xiaotianzhu Peak. That is Datianzhu Peak. Under Xiaotianzhu Peak, there is a bay called Washing Crane Pool. In the past, there were often pine cranes resting and playing here. Under the Tiankong Mountain near the southwest of the twin peaks is a group of Taoist temple landscapes. Laojun Temple, Yuanjun Temple, Yuanjun Tomb, Lingyi Spring, Lianhua Cave, and the place where the Jade Maiden cultivates herself are all located here. From the Tianzhu Peak scenic area of Mount Tai to the Houshiwu scenic area on the top of the mountain, it is the original and simple climbing route of Mount Tai. It is also a route with concentrated and beautiful natural landscapes. Here, the peaks are precipitous, the valleys are deep, strange pines and rocks are everywhere, and mountain springs, streams, and waterfalls can be seen everywhere.
