Tiefeng Mountain National Forest Park is located in the northern part of Wanzhou District, Chongqing City. The park enjoys a superior location with convenient transportation, featuring the Yangtze River, the Dazhou-Wanzhou Railway, and the upcoming airport and expressway. The park is 15 kilometers away from the city center of Wanzhou and is a suburban-type forest park. Covering an area of 9,100 hectares with a forest coverage rate of 95%, the park boasts lush forests and abundant flora and fauna resources, including 869 species of forest plants and over 500 kinds of forest animals, making it a rich treasure trove of biodiversity. The forest landscape is characterized by its colorful seasonal changes. The park is divided into four scenic areas: Golden Lion Ridge, Phoenix Mountain, Iron Buddha Temple, and Shell Mountain. Major natural attractions such as the towering peaks, Chaotianmen sunrise, Yunhai on Phoenix Ridge, Tiangu welcoming the phoenix, Shi Gong and Shi Mu, Wu Chi Lian Zhu, and the emerald bamboo shadows captivate visitors. The park also features historical sites and cultural landscapes with rich history, including the Fengyi Zen Temple, a renowned Buddhist sanctuary dating back to the Ming Dynasty, and the Yang’erwoo cliff carvings that have been well-preserved for centuries. The park is open all year round from 08:00 to 19:00.
