The Tomb of the King of Sulu is located in Beiying Village in the northern district of Dezhou City. The ancient Kingdom of Sulu is located on the Sulu Islands in the Philippines. The country is divided into three kings: the king of the east, the king of the west, and the king of the cave. The king of the east is respected. In the Ming Dynasty of our country, the ancient Kingdom of Sulu began close friendly exchanges with our country.


In the 15th year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty, the three kings on the Sulu Islands – the king of the east, Paduka Pahala; the king of the west, Mahala Gemading; and the king of the cave, Paduka Balabu – led a friendly delegation of 340 people including their families to conduct a friendly visit to China and were grandly received by Emperor Yongle Zhu Di. While the king of the east was on his way back to his country via Shandong, unfortunately, he fell ill and died at the post station in Anling Town north of Dezhou.


Upon hearing the news of his death, Emperor Yongle deeply mourned and sent an official from the Ministry of Rites with an elegiac address to Dezhou and buried him with royal rites. Opening hours: Open from Tuesday to Sunday throughout the year from 09:00 to 17:00; Closed all day on Monday throughout the year.
