Tong’an Film and Television City, formerly known as Yuanhua Film and Television City, is a replica of many famous landmarks in Beijing. Visitors can find miniature versions of Tiananmen, Taihe Hall, Yangxin Hall, and the Long Corridor of the Summer Palace, creating an illusion of being in old Beijing. These structures are slightly smaller than the originals but are built with remarkable resemblance, allowing photos to be almost indistinguishable from the real thing.
Inside the palaces such as Taihe Hall, tourists can rent traditional costumes and have their photos taken on the dragon throne. The film city also hosts various exciting performances daily, typically around 10 AM and 3 PM, featuring unique Minnan customs such as embroidered ball throwing for marriage and acrobatics. Visitors should keep an eye on the performance announcements within the scenic area and can enjoy the shows without additional tickets.


Additionally, there are paid activities here that are popular among children, such as forest exploration, roller coasters, and bumper cars. The opening hours are from 09:00 to 17:30 from January 1st to December 30th; on New Year’s Day and Chinese New Year, the hours are extended to 09:00 to 21:00; and on December 31st, it’s also open from 09:00 to 21:00.


Preferential policies include free admission for children under 6 years old or under 1.2 meters in height, half-price for minors aged 6 to 18 with identification, free admission for seniors over 65 with a senior citizen card or ID, half-price for those aged 60 to 65, free for active and retired military personnel with a military ID or preferential treatment certificate, free for retired cadres or retired non-commissioned officers with valid documents, free for military families and dependents with valid documents, half-price for full-time university undergraduate students and below with a student ID, and free for disabled military personnel with a disability certificate.


Must-see tips: 1. During holidays, watch large-scale emperor court sessions and Qing Dynasty garden tours, as well as embroidered ball throwing for marriage. 2. Free to watch and enjoy: 3D movies, film stunt performances, parades, and chime performances. 3. Paid activities: wearing traditional costumes for 25 yuan/person, sitting on the dragon throne for 20 yuan/person, taking a sedan chair photo for 5 yuan/person, forest exploration for 10 yuan/person, bumper cars for 10 yuan/person, and roller coasters for 5 yuan/person.
