The garden was built by Ye Yiquan (courtesy name Ziheng), the son of Ye Chengzhong, a wealthy businessman from Zhenhai, Zhejiang. In 1910, after the Jiangwan Racecourse was completed, Ye raised funds from the profits he obtained and built this garden. The garden was designed by Japanese and has a unique layout. There are towering ancient trees inside, and many are centuries-old trees. The former owner of the house was Ye Chengzhong, the famous ‘Hardware King’ and ‘Kerosene King’ in Shanghai at the end of the 19th century. Opening hours: Open all day throughout the year. For specific details, please refer to the announcements at the scenic spot.
