The Sequoia Village Scenic Area is named after the green giant pandas – Taxus chinensis trees are planted everywhere. It is equipped with the former residence of Mr. Yang Yuan, Taxus chinensis garden, water conference room, music-themed restaurant, Huizhou-style courtyard guest rooms, etc. The Sequoia Village Scenic Area is named after the ‘Book of Supplementing Agriculture’ created by Mr. Yang Yuan, an agricultural expert in the Ming and Qing Dynasties in 1658. It has profound cultural connotations and historical and cultural backgrounds. Chen Hengli, an expert in Chinese agricultural history, has done a lot of research on the ‘Book of Supplementing Agriculture’ and called the book ‘one of the great works summarizing agricultural economy and agricultural technology in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, and a valuable heritage in the history of Chinese agriculture’. Therefore, taking the ‘Book of Supplementing Agriculture’ as the main line for research and thinking, building tourist attractions, creating historical celebrity brands, and upgrading rural tourism grades to attract tourists from near and far. There are also four gardens (peach garden, pear garden, vegetable garden, and orchard) and one farm (native chicken and duck farm) in the scenic area. Here, people can wear coir rain hats and carry hoes, enjoy farming by themselves, and be self-sufficient. When tired, lie in the countryside; when thirsty, pick the unsprayed fruits casually; if you want to play, step on the waterwheel, fish in troubled waters, get a broken bow, and tease chickens and ducks; when hungry, hide on the water and taste delicious farm dishes.
