The Tongzhongzhai scenic area is located within Bayi Village, 9 kilometers west of Shixing County. It features towering and precipitous peaks, is often surrounded by auspicious clouds, and has extremely beautiful scenery. It is one of the ten famous scenic spots in Shixing. According to legend, during the Tianjian period of the Southern Dynasty, nine phoenixes descended and lived on this mountain. They stayed together for a long time and then nirvana here.
