The Tropic of Cancer marker tower in Guangzhou is located in Taiping Town, Conghua City (23°36’28″N), and it is one of the tallest and largest marker towers on the Tropic of Cancer line around the world. It is situated more than 40 kilometers north of Guangzhou along National Highway 105, at the border of Guangzhou and Conghua.
The forest park is divided into five functional areas: the marker tower science and culture tour area, the Hejiapu Reservoir tour area, the park management area, the Mazishan mountain climbing tour area, and the Mazishan plant landscape area. In addition, five new exhibition halls including ‘Astronomy, Star Charts, and Astronomical Observation’ will be built to showcase various thematic astronomy content.
The plant resources in Conghua Tropic of Cancer Forest Park are also quite abundant, with a total of 73 families and 206 species of plants, including 64 cultivated species. The park is open all year round, 24 hours a day.
