Tsinghua Garden was formerly Xichun Garden, a royal garden and Kangxi’s temporary palace (imperial garden). It was built in the middle of the Qing Dynasty during the reign of Emperor Kangxi and completed in 1767. Its core landscape is an island surrounded by a large lotus pond. This island is connected to the shore on the northwest side by a white marble arch bridge. On the southeast side of the island, there is another short bridge called ‘Lianqiao’. There are undulating hills and woods on the island. The ‘Lotus Pond Moonlight Pavilion’ is built on it. Currently, visits by people outside the school are suspended.
