Established in 1669, Tsuen Wan Old Encircled Village is an ancient village in Tsuen Wan, New Territories, Hong Kong, originally named ‘Shallow Bay Encircled Village’. A distinctive feature of the village is the abundance of temples, with dozens of Buddhist, Taoist, and Confucian temples, such as the renowned Si Fang Temple, Yuanxuan Academy, Dong Putuo Lecture Temple, and Longmu Buddha Hall (Longmu Temple). There are also Tibetan Buddhist temples, making it common to see monks throughout the village. The village is open all year round, with full-day access.
