The museum has four themes and 16 exhibition rooms, including the arduous pioneering history, the continuously inherited cultural essence, the simple and honest folk customs, and the architectural classic of harmony between man and nature. It comprehensively displays the early development of Nanjing, the construction technology and cultural connotations of tulou, the living customs of tulou people, and outstanding historical figures in ancient Nanjing. It is also equipped with various precious cultural relics and various folk supplies, root art works, and production tools from the Neolithic Age to the Republic of China period.
