Twin Turtles Listening to the Dharma Stone

Located to the west of the Pan Tuo Stone, at the lower end of the Fifty-Three Visits Stone on the cliff. A massive rock is adorned with two rocks that strikingly resemble turtles. One stretches its limbs as if climbing upwards; the other sits atop the rock, looking back, seemingly urging the latter to hurry up. The twin turtles are incredibly lifelike and impressive, leaving viewers in awe. It is said that the two turtles were sent by the Dragon King to listen to the teachings of Guanyin Bodhisattva, but became so engrossed that they forgot to return and were turned into stone by the Bodhisattva. Another legend tells that the two turtles, originally a male and a female, were not yet free from worldly desires and flirted with each other during the sermon, hence their punishment to become stone turtles as a warning to those who are not sincere in their practice. Above the Twin Turtles Listening to the Dharma Stone, there is the Fifty-Three Visits Stone, with larger stones standing tall and smaller ones piled up like eggs, forming an intricate and towering structure. The stones vary in shape and appear to transform with each step, giving a sense of impending danger. As the weather changes from dawn to dusk and the fog shifts from morning to evening, these peculiar rocks display a range of colors. Open all year round, accessible 24 hours a day.
