Mysterious Valley and Divine Pool is located on the southern slopes of Yunmeng Mountain, 25 kilometers northeast of Huairou District. Visiting this place recalls the ‘Notes on a Small Pond’ learned during school days. Every April, apricot blossoms bloom in clusters and clusters amidst the mountains and waters, a sight to behold.

Within the scenic area, the mountains are high and the forests dense, with streams crisscrossing. Among more than twenty natural wonders, the ‘Divine Pool’ and ‘Flying Waterfall’ stand out as unique to the suburbs of Beijing. The waterfall is divided into two tiers, situated on cliffs, with splashing water and a significant flow. What is particularly remarkable is that two waterfalls encase a pool, and all three, along with the surrounding mountains, are a single piece of granite.

In addition, there is a nearly ten-thousand-square-meter area of stone carvings themed around the stories of the twelve zodiac animals and Buddhist culture. Works themed on the zodiac stories include ‘The Rat’s Wedding,’ ‘Five Oxen Bringing Fortune,’ ‘Nine Sons of the Dragon,’ ‘The Serpent Coiled in Wealth,’ and others. Works themed on Buddhist culture include ‘Two-Sided Reclining Buddha,’ ‘Avalokitesvara,’ ‘Three Generations of Buddhas,’ ‘Jigong,’ and ‘Artistic Arhats,’ totaling 116 statues, a number that is rare in North China.

The scenic area’s restaurant also offers traditional Chinese pastries, hearty farmhouse meals, and local delicacies such as rainbow trout and rabbit heads, providing convenience for tourists to dine.
