Waipu Mountain boasts a serene natural environment with a humid climate that ensures warmth in winter and coolness in summer, making it a pleasant destination throughout the year. Its landscape is further enhanced by marine erosion features such as grooves, which contribute to the unique beauty of the area, particularly in the southern region. The relentless waves have sculpted many grand natural landscapes over millennia, including steep marine erosion cliffs that inspire awe when viewed from above.
On the mountain, one can find the Wentao Pavilion, which honors Master Hongyi, and the Xiaoputuo Zen Temple. Within the temple’s courtyard, there are Guanyin statues that have been invited from Japan, along with representations of the four famous Buddhist mountains. The site is open to visitors from 08:30 to 17:00 every day of the year.
