On the southern rampart of Cangpo Village stands the Wang Xiong Pavilion, facing the Song Di Pavilion in the Fang’ao Village to the south. A touching story of brotherly affection between Li Jiamu and Li Qiushan, the seventh-generation ancestors of the Li family, is still passed down here.

The Wang Xiong Pavilion, along with the Renji Temple, the ancestral hall, and the Che Men to the west, forms an important public center in Cangpo Village. Together with the ancient cypresses on the ramparts, they create a lively and dynamic outline of the village’s facade.

Legend has it that during the Southern Song Dynasty, there were two Li brothers in Cangpo Village who were deeply affectionate and harmonious. After the elder brother moved to Fang’ao Village, their visits continued unabated. The elder brother built the ‘Song Di Pavilion’ to watch for his younger brother’s return, and the younger brother constructed the ‘Wang Xiong Pavilion’ to comfort his longing for his elder brother.

The site is open all year round, accessible 24 hours a day.
