Wangxian Pavilion is located at the north entrance of Hangzhou’s Zhongshan South Road food street, adjacent to the south side of the Drum Tower, and close to the Zhonghe elevated bridge. It stands at a total height of 45 meters, making it one of the taller structures in the area. The pavilion consists of three above-ground levels and one underground level. Ascending to the top level, one can overlook the former residence of Hu Xueyan to the east, gaze upon the Wu Mountain City God Pavilion to the west, look south towards Zhongshan Food Street, and face the Drum Tower Imperial Street to the north, with the prosperity of the Southern Song Dynasty seemingly at one’s feet. The underground level exhibits archaeological relics protected by a preservation cover, similar to the method used at Leifeng Pagoda. Opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday from 09:30 to 12:00 and 13:30 to 16:30 all year round; closed all day on Mondays.
