Wanzhou Scenic Area, located in the eastern part of Chongqing City, is the second largest city in Chongqing. It is situated at the heart of the Three Gorges Reservoir and the junction of the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River. The area is named for its convergence of numerous rivers and gathering of merchants, making it one of the top ten ports along the Yangtze River.
