Wayaoping, located in Feitianshan Town, Suqian District, Chenzhou City, has been a vital waterway connecting the north and south of China since the Han Dynasty. It serves as the starting and ending point of the water route from Chenzhou to Hengyang and Changsha. On August 26, 2023, after six months of meticulous construction, the cultural street of the Wayaoping Ancient Village Project was officially opened, marking the completion of the project. In the ancient street, light gauze hangs, and red lanterns adorn the simple blue tile eaves, bringing the charm of the Ming and Qing dynasty towns to life. Renowned brands from Chenzhou, such as Jujing Pharmacy, Jiahe Inverted Wine Shop, Linglong Tea Shop, and Jinguin Silver Shop, gather in Wayaoping. Visitors can embark on a Cuijiang cruise at Wayaoping Wharf to experience the 6-kilometer waterway scenery of the Cuijiang Tourism Belt. Surrounded by clear waters and Danxia landscapes, one can enjoy the picturesque views of Lion Mountain, Carp Playing in Water, Thousand-Year Suspended Coffins, Fairy Village, and Iron Tripod Fort. The site is open all year round, accessible 24 hours a day.
