The Wenchang Aerospace Science Museum is an early comprehensive theme exhibition hall in Hainan that showcases aerospace culture, historical events, and commemorative collections. It is located at Building 25, Aerospace Modern City, 169 Wenwei Road, Wenchang City, Hainan Province. It is about 24 kilometers away from the Wenchang Satellite Launch Center. It mainly includes three floors of exhibition halls, sales exhibition halls, technical rooms, service facilities, and office rooms.

The aerospace science museum vividly displays the past, present, and future of China’s aerospace industry through diversified display methods. The science museum is divided into three major exhibition areas and an aerospace breeding park. The exhibition area on the first floor is the ’60-year Popular Science Exhibition of China’s Aerospace’. The exhibition area on the second floor is the ‘Special Exhibition on Qian Xuesen, a People’s Scientist’.

The exhibition area on the third floor is the ’60-year Aerospace Philatelic Exhibition of Postal Transmission to Space’. The exhibition area of the aerospace breeding park is for aerospace breeding plants. The exhibition area on the first floor is about the development process and brilliant achievements of China’s aerospace. This exhibition area shows the arduous, magnificent, and brilliant development process of China’s aerospace in the past 60 years through the chronicle of major events in China’s aerospace in the past 60 years.

With precious historical materials, it vividly records the unremitting efforts of the Chinese people on the road to space, allowing tourists to witness the elegance of China’s aerospace standing among the world’s aerospace powers. Here is the exciting manned spaceflight project. Astronauts drive Shenzhou to step into space. Here is the lunar exploration project that explores the unknown. The three steps of orbiting, landing, and returning.

Step by step to land on the moon. Constant exploration and progress. What is cultivated are future engineers, and what is forged is firm patriotism. Here is the beautiful rendezvous of Tiangong and Shenzhou. The fascinating space travel starts here, and the future space application sets sail from here.

The exhibition area on the second floor is a commemorative exhibition of Qian Xuesen, a people’s scientist and a meritorious figure of the two bombs and one satellite, and his deeds. In Qian Xuesen’s magnificent life journey of nearly a century, he has always closely linked his dreams with the dreams of the country and the nation. He has been persistent in pursuit and selflessly dedicated to conquering space, rejuvenating the nation, and strengthening the country.

Here are not only complete historical materials that truly reproduce Qian Xuesen’s life, but also a scene reproduction of Qian Xuesen’s study. The study is simple and unadorned, showing us Qian Xuesen’s life free from fame and fortune. The stone statue of Qian Xuesen on the table even conveys to us a scientist’s deep thinking about the cause of the motherland. After tourists browse the life experience of the scientist, we also provide a video hall that can accommodate about 50 people to vividly show Qian Xuesen’s legendary life to tourists in the form of videos.

The exhibition area on the third floor is the 60-year Aerospace Philatelic Exhibition of Postal Transmission to Space with rich philatelic items. It shows the entrepreneurship, development process and achievements of China’s aerospace in the form of philatelic items. In the past 60 years, following the footsteps of the development and growth of China’s aerospace, China’s postal department and relevant units have printed a series of commemorative stamps and commemorative envelopes and other philatelic items.

These philatelic items chronicle the illustrious history of China’s space endeavors, reflecting the development and showcasing the tremendous achievements made in the field of Chinese space exploration. The seemingly insignificant stamps and commemorative envelopes, when compiled, reveal a splendid panorama of China’s space development. This exhibition area features a geographical map of the main units of China’s space system, signed envelopes from significant space events, biographies of twenty-three ‘Two Bombs, One Satellite’ meritorious figures, and exquisite books related to space, narrating the history of space through philatelic items.

A part of the third-floor exhibition is an activity hall capable of accommodating approximately 150 people. With a wealth of video resources and professional instructors, a scientific and popular science event is presented, where visitors can engage in various space-themed activities such as hands-on space activities, lectures, and seminars, and watch documentaries related to space.

Space Breeding Garden – Agriculture is the foundation of life, and the seed is the priority in agriculture. High-quality varieties are decisive for agricultural development and irreplaceable in increasing crop yields and improving crop quality. Using space mutation technology for crop breeding is of great significance for accelerating the pace of breeding in China, improving the quality of breeding, and exploring an emerging breeding research field with Chinese characteristics. Visitors can experience the magic of space breeding, where tiny seeds grow into various beautiful fruits. The breeding garden also hosts space seed planting activities, allowing visitors to get close to nature, fostering a love for life and the Earth’s home.
