Wenmiao Road

Wenmiao Road, located in the southwestern part of the old town area of Shanghai, spans a total length of only 562 meters with a width of 8.5 meters. It starts from Henan South Road (formerly known as Yanhai Road) in the east and extends to Zhonghua Road in the west. It was once called Xuegong Street and is a famous old street that embodies the essence of Chinese culture and history. The road is named after the Wenmiao, a temple dedicated to Confucius, which was built along this road.

A Confucian ceremony, a remnant of the Qing Dynasty, is held here twice a year, during the spring and autumn seasons. On these occasions, dignitaries from the Shanghai County, local gentry, and other influential figures in society gather to pay their respects, making Wenmiao Road bustling with activity.

There are numerous small shops, gift stores, and accessory shops along Wenmiao Road that are worth exploring. If you feel tired from shopping, you can easily find snack shops everywhere to replenish your energy with delicacies such as chicken wings, barbecue, and milk tea. For food enthusiasts who love ACG (Anime, Comics, and Games), this place is akin to paradise. The opening hours and specific business status are subject to the daily operating conditions.
