Wenquan Temple, originally built by monks Guanghui and Guangzhi during the late Ming Dynasty, is situated beside a spring of therapeutic hot springs and is embraced by surrounding mountains, also known as Tangshan Temple. In the early Qing Dynasty, it was renamed Wenquan Temple. After its establishment, the temple underwent multiple renovations and expansions. During the Kangxi reign, it was significantly rebuilt and expanded, attracting a constant flow of visitors and those seeking healing. After suffering from a great fire, it was reconstructed and continually expanded.
The hot spring water at Wenquan Temple contains a variety of minerals. Today, the area around Wenquan Temple has a well-equipped sanatorium that can accommodate tourists for sightseeing and recuperation. The temple is set in an elegant environment, surrounded by green mountains on all sides. It enjoys a fresh air and a picturesque setting by the mountains and waterside.

Spring brings a riot of mountain flowers, summer offers the sight of lotus flowers and green grass, autumn presents the spectacle of maple leaves turning red, and winter displays trees laden with silver flowers.
