The Wenxi Ancient Banyan Grove is located by the Oujiang River in Wenxi Town. The 17 clusters of giant banyans consist of three varieties: Ficus virens var. sublanceolata, Ficus microcarpa, and Ficus altissima. The tree ages are all over 250 years. The larger one has a breast diameter of 270 centimeters and a crown width of about 33 square meters. Such an ancient, diverse, and multi-stemmed banyan grove is truly rare in the mid-subtropical region and is a banyan community at a relatively high latitude in China. It was the location for exterior shooting of the movies ‘Ashima’ and ‘Blue Sky Pigeon Whistle’.
