The Wenzhou Education History Museum is located on Shengxi Bridge Road in the Lucheng District. According to the National Cultural Heritage Administration as of September 2020, the museum houses 1321 pieces/sets of exhibits and has attracted 15,200 visitors. The museum is divided into five spaces: the Ancient Hall, also known as Wende Hall, which condenses over 1500 years of Wenzhou’s educational history from the first year of the Taikang era of the Western Jin Dynasty (280) to the nineteenth year of the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty (1839); the Modern Hall, located inside the Zhu Gong Temple, showcasing the educational history of Wenzhou from the twentieth year of the Daoguang era (1840) to the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949; and the Contemporary Hall, which displays the modernization process and achievements of Wenzhou’s education since the establishment of the People’s Republic of China.
Additionally, there is a courtyard area composed of stele corridors, sculptures, and reliefs; while the Fuying Pavilion serves as a document reading room. The opening hours are subject to the actual opening status on the day.Wenzhou Education History Museum
