The Wenzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center was established in August 2008 and officially opened with a plaque at the Wenzhou Cultural Center in June 2009. It is primarily responsible for formulating policies, plans, and programs for intangible cultural heritage in Wenzhou City. The center also engages in the protection and research of intangible cultural heritage, organizes the application and review processes for various levels of heritage projects, representative inheritors, and inheritance bases. It hosts academic events, exhibitions (performances), and other public welfare activities related to intangible cultural heritage, promotes the exchange and publicity of heritage protection work, establishes a database for intangible cultural heritage, and manages the daily operations of the Wenzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum. The museum is open all year round from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00 to 16:00.
