Wenzhou Nan Dou Si Lian Dui is located in Zeya Town, Ouhai District, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, and is a significant site for ancient Chinese papermaking techniques. Situated in the middle reaches of Longxi River, it covers an area of approximately 0.28 square kilometers and has been designated as a key cultural relics protection unit by the state. The name ‘Si Lian Dui’ originates from its construction method; paper farmers in the Ming Dynasty built four water-powered pounding mills, or ‘dui’, downstream in sequence to efficiently utilize water resources, creating the famous ‘Si Lian Dui’. This workshop, built along Longxi River, features water channels, water wheels, dui houses, and paper houses. The site is open year-round from 08:00 to 16:30.
