The Student Activity Center, also known as the Yu Ying Auditorium, was donated by Mr. and Mrs. He Chaoyu in February 1992 with a generous donation of 10 million Hong Kong dollars. Originally located on the campus road, the auditorium was named ‘Yu Ying’, derived from the last characters of the names of He Chaoyu and Huang Meiying. In honor of their benevolence, the university relocated the Yu Ying Auditorium to the Chashan campus.
The Ou Yue Celebrity Relief Sculpture is situated in the lobby of the Yu Ying Auditorium. Wenzhou, a land of outstanding people, has seen numerous historical celebrities, such as Wang Shipeng, a renowned politician and poet from the Southern Song Dynasty, and Gao Zecheng, an eminent playwright and the progenitor of Southern Opera.
