In the northern part of Changchun Garden, one of the three Yuanming Gardens, there is a European-style garden area, commonly known as ‘Xiyanglou’. It was initially constructed during the reign of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty in 1747 and was essentially completed around the 24th year of Qianlong’s reign. The area includes Western-style architecture, large fountains, several smaller fountains, and garden features, which are distributed in a strip along the northern wall.
Comprising over 10 scenic spots such as the Harmonic Interest, Yellow Flower Array, Bird Cage, Square Exterior, Five Bamboo Pavilion, Haiyan Hall, Yuanying View, Large Water Method, Water Viewing Method, Line Method Mountain, Square River, and Line Method Painting, the total area spans approximately 8 hectares.
