The Wolong Gorge scenic area is mainly composed of ‘Zhuge Village’ and Wolong Gorge. It is a scenic area with distinctive characteristics where human and natural landscapes are equally emphasized and mountain scenery and water colors complement each other. Wolong Gorge has a long history and preserves rock carvings from the Northern and Southern Dynasties and thousand-year-old ginkgo trees. It is a relatively large settlement of direct descendants of Zhuge Liang in southern Zhejiang. It has profound cultural accumulation. Wolong Gorge has fresh air, good vegetation, excellent water quality and abundant water sources. Wolong Gorge has two characteristics: First, there are many scenic spots, both beautiful and strange. Second, it has a circular tourist route. The secluded and strange Wolong Gorge has a long and wide valley. On both sides of the mountains, there are lush forests and tall bamboos. The cliff walls are mostly steep. In the valley, the stream flows gently. Pools and waterfalls are distributed in succession. Strange rocks and grotesque stones are dazzling. At the mouth of the valley, a clear pool of water forms a ‘bath’, stretching across the foothills, giving guests from all over the world a ‘pleasant surprise at the door’. In the winding Wolong Gorge of about 6,000 meters, there are dozens of landscapes such as Xianqiao Pier, Dragon Man Cave, White Tiger Cliff, White Tiger Pool, Jade Maiden Pool, Bronze Sparrow Terrace (stage flat), Splashing Rainbow Gorge, Bafu Pool, Guizi Pool, Red Cliff Flat, Longjing Pool, Dustpan Pool, Gourd Pool, and Melon Floating Pool. Among them, Xianqiao Pier, Longjing Pool, and small ‘White Dragon’ are particularly magnificent. Xianqiao Pier is a huge boulder standing abruptly in the torrent. From a distance, it looks like a person’s foot sole with five toes complete and of different lengths. Looking closely, it looks like a bridge pier. Longjing Pool was originally called Wudou Cylinder and also known as Dragon Pool. It is 19 meters long, 17 meters wide and 35 meters deep. The water is so green that it makes people’s hearts flutter. The waterfall is 12 meters high. The turbulent flow pours down from the sky, stirring up waves and ripples. The small ‘White Dragon’ is in the Dragon Pool. It is another name for a white stone layer. It winds for about 300 meters and is about 40 centimeters wide. Its color is very different from the adjacent stones. The boundary is distinct, like a swimming dragon. Sometimes it runs along the slope, sometimes it dives and swims along the stream, and then it ‘dives into’ a deep pool. It is truly a masterpiece of nature and a beautiful scenery. Another characteristic of Wolong Gorge is that it forms a circular double-track tourist route. Go upstream along the stream and directly swim to Dustpan Pool. Then follow a mountain path beside the pool to Niutou Stockaded Village. After the tour, everyone can quickly go down the mountain along a flagstone road beside the stockaded village.
