The Wozhou Lake Scenic Area is composed of Wozhou Lake, Wozhou Mountain, Tianmu Mountain, Dongshan, and Xishan Yibi, among other scenic spots, known for its beautiful scenery and profound cultural connotations. Bai Juyi praised it as: ‘In the southeast, the landscapes are led by Yue, with Shan as the face, and Wozhou Tianmu as the eyebrows.’ The natural landscapes of Wozhou Lake and Wozhou Mountain are extremely rich. Along the lake, one can view the dam scenery, Stone Maiden Peak, Goose Nose Peak, Incense Burner Peak, Zhidun Ridge, and Zhenjun Hall. Master Zhi, a wise master, released snails here. There is also an island in the lake called ‘Da Yuejiao’. After disembarking and climbing the island, standing on the ‘Shuangyuan Pavilion’, one can overlook the ever-changing lake and mountain scenery. Wozhou Mountain has a profound cultural background; it is one of the fifteen blessed lands of Taoism, a center for Prajna studies in the Jiangnan region, a gathering place for scholar culture, and the birthplace of ancient landscape poetry. Eighteen eminent monks like Zhi Daolin and Zhu Daoqian, as well as eighteen notables such as Sun Chuo and Wang Xizhi, have long frequented this area. To the south of Wozhou Lake lies Tianmu Mountain, where Li Bai dreamed of traveling, a famous scenic and cultural mountain, and the sixteenth blessed land of Taoism. Nearby, Sima Hui Mountain is the sixtieth blessed land of Taoism. Along the National Highway 104, there are historical relics and natural scenery such as Liu Ruan Temple, Melancholy Creek, Immortal Welcoming Bridge, Sima Mei Bridge, Bamboo Ancient Street, Huishu Ridge, Taibai Temple, Tianmu Temple, Puji Bridge, and Wanmadao.
