The Wu Changshuo Memorial Hall is located in Xiling Seal Engravers’ Society on Gushan Mountain. Wu Changshuo (1844 – 1927) is a master of art in modern China who carried forward and initiated poetry, calligraphy, painting and seal engraving. He is respected as a painter with ‘four unique skills’ in the art circle and is one of the founders of the Shanghai School in modern Chinese painting. The hall has exhibitions on Wu Changshuo’s artistic life, his studio, bedroom layout, and displays of his works and those of his disciples. It showcases more than 200 precious cultural relics, documents, photos, books, stationery supplies, publications and more. There are also more than 600 rich art collections. Open hours: Open from 9:00 to 17:00 all year round.
