Wulian Mountain is one of the renowned mountains in Shandong. The scenic area boasts clear waters, lush forests, numerous peculiar peaks and rocks, as well as historical sites. Visitors can also enjoy a panoramic view of the plains from a high vantage point, and on a clear day, one can even gaze as far as the Yellow Sea. The Ming Dynasty’s famous temple, Guangming Temple, is located on the mountain, making it a popular destination for worship and blessings.
Behind the temple, a colossal stone Buddha is carved into the mountain, believed to bring good fortune to those who visit. The best time to visit Wulian Mountain is during the spring, summer, and autumn seasons, which is ideal for flower appreciation and photography. Although Wulian Mountain is not very high and resembles a lotus in bloom from a distance, climbing is not permitted. The scenic area has an east and a west entrance; the east entrance is the main one. From the base of the mountain, visitors can take a scenic bus to the mountain gate halfway up the mountain. The path from the east entrance is relatively easy to navigate, allowing one to complete the tour in half a day. The west entrance features a steeper path, which takes more time to climb.
