Wuling Mountain Grand Canyon - Majestic Scenery and Rich Ecology

The Wuling Mountain Grand Canyon scenic area is located approximately 40 kilometers southeast of Fuling District in Chongqing City, within the territory of Wuling Mountain Township. It is a national 4A-level tourist attraction. The scenic area covers an area of 29.96 square kilometers with an average altitude of 1300 meters. The mountain terrain is majestic and varied. It has abundant and diverse native vegetation, including over 2000 species of wild plants and more than 200 species of wild animals. The air is fresh and pleasant, and the ecological environment is extremely excellent. It features mountains, forests, springs, caves, waterfalls, cliffs, lakes, pools, gorges, pits, and fissures, making it extremely rich in tourism resources. The ten-mile grand canyon is grand and beautiful, with strange stones piled up at the bottom of the valley and gurgling streams. The natural cliff resembles the Great Wall, stretching for several miles. The fissures and underground rivers are magical and spectacular. The scenic area is known for its ancient ‘scar’ on Earth—the cliff cracks caused by intense crustal movements. The world’s unique close-range reverse geological structure—Tianmen’s danger, shaped like a thin knife, with walls of copper and iron stretching for thousands of meters, has amazed geologists from all over the world. Visitor Center: The Wuling Mountain Visitor Center is designed and constructed according to national 5A-level tourist attraction standards, with a grand and elegant style and complete functions.The entire visitor center encompasses a visitor reception building, a gathering square for visitors, and an ecological parking lot. Spanning an area of nearly 200 acres, the construction area amounts to 15,000 square meters.

Yunwu Pavilion, nestled at an altitude of 1200 meters, is named for the perpetual mist and clouds that enshroud it. This structure serves as another exceptional viewing platform within the Wuling Mountain Grand Canyon scenic area. On days when the weather is clear and the clouds and fog part, one can gaze upon Tanzi Mountain in Wulong County, with even the wind turbines atop Tanzi Mountain being clearly visible. From Yunwu Pavilion, the grand canyon unfolds in a breathtaking panorama of clouds and rosy hues.

The Tianmen Cave Suspension Bridge is a marvel within a two-kilometer radius. It features a large-scale horizontal, vertical, and reverse geological structure belt, resembling an extremely sharp, thin blade with walls of copper and iron stretching for thousands of meters. This geological wonder has captivated geologists worldwide and has been recognized by National Geographic magazine as one of the top 100 recommended shooting points.

Yunmeng Stream offers a tranquil escape into the gurgling waters, fragrant with the scent of peach and plum blossoms. It is reminiscent of the pastoral idyll of an ancient village, akin to the Peach Blossom Spring. Visitors can take a leisurely rest here, savor the local Wuling specialty foods, and immerse themselves in the experience.

Guyue Square is a remarkable construction, built beneath the cliff, above the stream, and flanked by verdant mountains on either side. This creates a harmonious layout where ‘high mountains and flowing water meet a bosom friend’.Here, there are long-standing Bayu ancient musical instruments on display, showcasing the unique charm of Bayu songs and dances, allowing you to travel through time and space to feel the eternal charm of the ancient state of Ba!
Qianyu Valley: Under the cliff of the sheer cliff, the century-old lucky tree is set against the pavilions and buildings. Drink a bowl of ‘broken bowl wine’, tie the lucky wish ribbon full of good wishes to the lucky tree, enjoy the tranquility and peace of the forest, and make a beautiful wish for this life.
Qingtian Gorge: Known as the ancient ‘scar’ of the Earth. It spans 1500 meters in length, with an average depth of over 300 meters, reaching a depth of 600 meters at its deepest point. At its narrowest, it is less than 2 meters wide, making it a result of the combined effects of landforms and billions of years of crustal movement. Here, one can part the clouds and see the sun, occasionally encountering a ray of sunshine in their heart.
Wuling Taidu: With an extreme slope of 42.6 degrees and a vertical drop of about 300 meters, the slant length is 634 meters. A cable car with colorful cabins glides out, exploring the fragrance and seclusion, with a panoramic view of the thousand-meter-long canyon at your feet.
Opening hours: From April 1st to October 31st, open from 08:30 to 16:00; From November 1st to March 31st, open from 09:00 to 15:30.
