The Wuliu Brake is located on the Xiaoqing River in Tianqiao District, Jinan City. It is an earlier-built ship lock on the Xiaoqing River and is a gate chamber-type double-door ship lock. The gate chamber is 100 meters long and the gate is 9.2 meters wide. It can pass 20 butted boats at a time. After the ship passes through the lock, it can reach Chengfeng Bridge upstream. It is more convenient for the transportation of raw materials for factories along the river such as wineries and paper mills. There are shady willows near the ship lock and tourists are in an endless stream. In the early 1960s, with the development of shipping on the Xiaoqing River, there were as many as more than 80 ships (times) passing through the lock every day. Later, due to the siltation of the waterway, the ship lock was changed to a regulating lock, but the name of Wuliu Brake has been used to this day. Open all year round and open all day.
