The Wuyi Overseas Chinese Museum was initiated in 2002 and held a collection exhibition in 2005, fully opening to the public in 2010. The museum covers an area of approximately 9,000 square meters and consists of three pavilions: Taishan Pavilion, Enping Pavilion, and Heshan Pavilion. The exhibition is divided into six sections: Golden Mountain Dreams, Overseas Entrepreneurship, Loyalty and Courage, Rise of the Hometown, New Chapters of the Hometown, and Light of the Chinese, showcasing the hardships of Wuyi-origin Chinese overseas and their touching stories of giving back to their hometown. The museum has collected over 39,000 overseas Chinese artifacts, with its collection being one of the most abundant, diverse, and valuable among similar museums in China. Opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-17:00; closed all day on Mondays; and open on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day, 09:00-17:00.
