Introduction: The Wuyi Palace scenic area is the core part of Wuyishan National Scenic Area. Also known as ‘Wuyi Palace’, the scenic area is located at Qingchuan, the end of rafting on the Nine-Bend Stream. It faces the stream in front, leans against beautiful peaks at the back, has vast fertile fields and green rivers, and there are many ingeniously constructed buildings. It is a place where tourists gather. It is the place where emperors of past dynasties offered sacrifices to Wuyi Jun. It is also one of the six famous scenic spots in the country in the Song Dynasty. It is a very ancient palace courtyard in Wuyishan. It was first built during the Tianbao period of the Tang Dynasty (742 – 755). In the Song Dynasty, it was expanded to more than 300 rooms. It was one of the six famous scenic spots in the Song Dynasty and was later destroyed by wars over the years. There are currently two Longjing wells, Wannian Palace and Sanqing Hall. Sanqing Hall is now the location of the International Lanting Academy. There are four precious inscriptions in the hall. Wannian Palace is now the Zhu Xi Memorial Hall. There are two thousand-year-old osmanthus trees in the palace. According to legend, they were planted by Li Liangzuo when he built the Taoist temple in the second year of Baoda in the Southern Tang Dynasty (944). Later, one of them withered. In the Song Dynasty, Zhu Xi replanted one. The two osmanthus trees are twisted like dragons and snakes and are called ‘osmanthus kings’.
Opening hours: From January 1st to December 31st, it is open from 08:00 to 18:00. Must-see tips: Wuyi Palace is located under Dawang Peak in the first bend.
