Wuyi Snake Garden is located within the Wuyi Mountain Scenic Area, covering an area of 18 acres. It features the Wuyi Snake Research Institute, a natural ecology snake pond, specimen room, video hall, reception room, and a snake product exhibition hall, making it one of the largest simulated snake gardens in the country. Since its establishment, the garden has been visited by more than thirty central leaders and well-known figures from home and abroad, who have affirmed its value. Many national news outlets have reported on Wuyi Snake Garden, giving it a certain level of influence both domestically and internationally. Wuyi City is rich in snake resources, with 62 species, accounting for more than one-third of the country’s snake species, and is known as the ‘Kingdom of Snakes’. Wuyi Snake Garden is a comprehensive snake garden integrating scientific research, breeding, tourism development, and scientific education, and is referred to as a ‘Miniature of the Snake Kingdom’. Visiting the garden allows visitors to understand the evolution of snakes, types of snakes, snake culture, snakebite prevention and treatment, and the relationship between snakes and humans, enhancing awareness of ecological protection. There is a wealth of physical objects, specimens, images, and video materials, with more than 10 full-time guides to popularize snake and ecological knowledge. The garden also hosts student field trips and internships, organizing scientific lectures such as ‘Snakes and Nature’ and ‘Snakebite Prevention and Treatment’. It trains snake breeding technical talents and helps rural communities to become prosperous through snake breeding. Opening hours are from January 1st to December 31st, from 08:30 to 18:00.
