Wuyuan Bay Wetland Park covers an area of 85 hectares, which is equivalent to half of Gulangyu. It is the largest park in Xiamen and also the largest wetland ecological park. It is known as the urban green lung of Xiamen.
Every March, a large number of egrets build their nests and breed here. It is also an important stopover for migratory birds during their north-south migration.

On the current plot of the park, there are aquatic and hygrophytic plant belts, aquatic plant communities, reed and wetland area plant communities. At present, 25 species of wetland waterbirds in 9 families and 29 species of mountain forest and farmland birds in 17 families inhabiting the wetland will also continue to live and sing here.

Tourists can sit on the viewing balcony of the waterside pavilion and overlook the five bridges reflecting each other like a ring. They can stroll along the wooden plank road to watch the reeds swaying and water lilies blooming on the lake, watch waterbirds rising and falling in the hazy mist on the湖心鸟岛 (Central Lake Bird Island), or enjoy the pleasure of fishing on the wooden plank platform.

Opposite the thousand-step wooden plank road is the gathering place for yachts. From time to time, you can see sailboats or sea training. Since Wuyuan Bay is the main venue for many international sailing competitions and also the starting point for many sailboats to go out to sea, if you have enough time, you can also book an activity of going out to sea by sailboat to experience the excitement of the sea breeze and sea water hitting your face.

Opening hours: Open 24 hours a day throughout the year
