Longmu Temple, a temple built by the people of the Pearl River basin to commemorate the local female leader ‘Longmu’ from the Warring States period. Wuzhou, the birthplace of Longmu, acclaims her as the river god of the Xijiang River. The temple was originally constructed in the early Northern Song Dynasty and underwent two major renovations during the Ming Wanli and Qing Yongzheng periods, with a significant expansion in 2005.
The expanded Longmu Temple now covers an area of approximately 100,000 square meters, featuring a memorial arch, front hall, middle hall, rear hall, palace, turtle pond, a wall with five dragon fountains, and a statue of Longmu. The temple is open year-round from 09:00 to 17:00, and on the first and fifteenth day of each lunar month from 8:00 to 18:00.
