Xijiao Min Xiang starts from Tiananmen Square in the east and extends to Bei Xinhua Street in the west, intersecting with Yangmao Hutong, Qianxiwachang Hutong, Nian’er Hutong, Ping’an Hutong, and Bingbuwa Hutong along its length.
As a financial street since the late Qing Dynasty to the late 20th century, spanning approximately one hundred years, Xijiao Min Xiang houses historical landmarks such as the residence of Zhang Tingge (the owner of Shuanghesheng Distillery), the former site of the Central Bank of Beijing, the former site of the Agricultural and Industrial Bank of China, the former site of the Mainland Bank, and the former site of the Beiyang Baoxiang Bank, all of which are protected cultural relics.
