Xia Cave Temple was initially constructed during the Yongli era of the Southern Ming Dynasty. Oriented to the south, it is a stacked courtyard-style temple complex comprising a front hall, a rear hall, and an opera tower, featuring two courtyards. All courtyards within the temple are interconnected by cloisters, creating a well-connected layout. The structure exemplifies ancient Chinese architecture utilizing both the column-and-tie (chuandou) and post-and-lintel (tailiang) construction techniques.
