Xiabafang

Xiabafang is a famous historical and cultural village in Guangdong Province. It is also a living block integrating creativity, design, leisure and art. It is a regional section with the titles of Dongguan Tianzifang, Dongguan Gulangyu and Dongguan 798. In Batou, there is a wooden plaque of ‘Favored by the emperor to respect famous officials in the city’ in Hongwu period of Ming Dynasty, one temple of Prince Zhang, one ancient ferry crossing, three earth temples, one flagpole clip made of bluestone, one inscription and seven national third-class ancient trees.

There are also more than 270 residential buildings built from Qing Dynasty to the 1980s. In addition to the relatively complete preservation of traditional buildings, Batou has also inherited the traditional Lingnan customs. Traditional Lingnan folk customs such as ancestor worship in Qingming Festival, Dragon Boat Festival and family reunion at the end of the year have been inherited. Wanjiang District actively taps the traditional cultural resources of Xiabafang and creates a cultural, leisure and creative block, making it a cultural and leisure hotspot for Dongguan white-collar workers and literary youths.
